Agriculture:

One of the most common uses for the Papa water powered pump today is the watering of livestock.

In many parts of the world and in particular Europe, livestock are no longer permitted into a water course ( stream or river ) to drink as this practice erodes the banks, upsetting the natural flow and the resultant pollution has negative effects on the ecosystem. Alternative means of supplying water to troughs and farm compounds are bowsers, electrical and diesel/electric pumps, all of which are costly and a source of pollution; the Papa water powered pump can service an individual trough or pump to a holding tank feeding a reticular system ( network of troughs ) and, of course, requires no external power other than that of flowing water.

Horticulture:

As with Agricultural demands, the Papa water powered pump can be utilised as an irrigation pump lifting water from distant streams and rivers to irrigate crops, usually feeding a header tank which can be programmed to feed crops at the required time of day or night.

Remote domestic requirements:

In many parts of the world, getting water from a flowing source to a village or smallholding is a constant concern. The Papa water powered pump can feed a holding tank and/or purification tank reliably and extremely cost-effectively.

Other applications include, but are not limited to:

  • Aquaculture ( Fish farming )
  • Pumping viscous fluids
  • Pumping seawater
  • Assisting with rain water storage and distribution etc

The Papa water powered pump Siphon System:

By reconfiguring the Papa water powered pumping system, a siphon service can be achieved to supply individual troughs or header tanks. The output is often less than that which is achieved with a positive head system, but is ideal for low volume remote locations.
